Throughout the course of the play the sense that the characters are stuck in an unending loop is further conveyed both in the physical actions of the characters but also the dialogue. Hamm always returns to the centre of the room, as Clov always returns back to Hamm, whilst Nagg and Nell can only pop in and out of their ash-bins.
